Previous TAP events
As well as our monthly networking meeting and Freeplay, our music jamming event, we work to deliver various special events and projects.
Augustus John Evening (Sep 09 Monthly Event)
This was a wonderful evening. Mini Kingman, an expert on Augustus John, gave an illuminating and entertaining talk on the great man's life. Later Rob Hughes gave a demonstration of Augustus' style by painting a canvas using a model in period dress.
Marc Dawson christened the pub piano, welcoming everybody into the pub with some great tunes while Super Funk Pirates, a local funk/fusion band played a fantastic set later in the evening. The dancefloor was full and a few of us joined in jamming and singing. All in all, a fantastic way to start our residence in the King Charles.
Art in the Park
This event linked exhibitions in the Lighthouse and the Study Gallery (now KUBE) together during Dorset Arts Weeks by encouraging artists to create work in Poole Park which lies between the two institutions.
Painters, photographers, musicians and a typewriter artist all contributed to making this, our first special event, happen.
TAP on the Quay
This event, put on in collaboration with Poole Tourism, mixed artists in with the usual Thursday night Summer fireworks entertainment on Poole Quay.
Artists including a scultor, textile artists, poets, and painters set up stalls, created work and engaged members of the public as they enjoyed the evening. We also scheduled live music from a local choir and band.
The TAP Open
This event exhibited a selection of the best local art in the Peacock Gallery in Upton House.
The Open was great success with a huge turnout on the opening night.
