Aims
TAP is Poole’s creative networking organization.
TAP’s core purpose is to improve communication within the creative industries sector in Poole, thereby:
- acting as a catalyst to the development of projects initiated by local creatives, and the development of the creative industries sector
- acting as a channel of communication between arts institutions and the Networking Generation (those creatives who prefer to socialize and do business through informal networks rather than join groups), thereby building bridges and promoting collaborations
- boosting the confidence of local creatives and signposting opportunities
- encouraging the development of a creative scene and increased creative activity within local public spaces and communities
By bringing people together in face-to-face environments and offering a range of talks, performances and interactive creative exercises as features in our networking events, we encourage people to relax and interact in a friendly and supportive atmosphere. Connections are made, trust is engendered and information is shared, thereby helping creatives to develop projects for the benefit of the arts community and general public.
TAP is committed to remaining open to all creative people and organizations in the area. We therefore promote other arts organizations where we feel they are doing positive things, even when they choose not to promote TAP. We hope by doing so, we will show that mutual support and partnership is the way forward and we will encourage them to change their approaches.
A key element of TAP is that it is creative-led. This makes it easier for TAP to keep its finger on the pulse and be responsive to the concerns of local creatives.
TAP is a facilitator and intermediary. Whilst TAP can support and promote local creative projects, it is does not currently have the administrative resources to lead them. Within the scope of this Business Plan, TAP will only undertake projects or put on special events where they aid delivery of its communication objective.
